Myrkulverse D&D Campaign Log - Iron Kingdoms

The group resumes in the new year after just having killed a group of fishmen. The group presses on nerion struggles up a wall. Battle is joined with multiple treebeards and the swamp monster from Avatar. After a few rounds of doing stuff, we slow down the attacking so that Ray can commune and seduce the big boy. We decide to walk past and come to the final room of the dungeon. We see a massive kraken like creature. After much debate we open a massive salvo against it. Ike throws a fish made by Sinsear that goes BOOM. Whosdad attempts a mental prison that is resisted and spat upon, Ray and turtle go poke and boom, Nerion slashes, Sinsear projects the mental magics.

Calamari is served as the tentacles fall one by one. The bastard of a head seemingly immune to everything as we continue to bombard it. We unload on the head and after a long bombardment, the head is felled. Ray took a couple of naps.

7462 gold is looted behind the boss.

A few other shits are behind the boss, and the items are as follows:

  • A pristine chest: this is an invulnerable chest, the lock is impossible to pick, but we are missing a key (attunement?)
  • Boots of the Frozen Wind (see google doc)
  • TBD
  • TBD

(Gannon will upload the other 2 items throughout the week once he determines them)

Ray feels the pulse of this world slow once again, and ray informs us our time is near.

Two areas remain unexplored, south and east, we must make a decision on which direction to go, or if its time to flee with our loot!

The group exits the cave after hoovering up anything not nailed down. After returning to the area around the rift, Ike takes the lay of the land through his telescope. South is the grass like kelp field, nothing much disturbs the smoothness of the plane. The high cliffs toward the east cut off vision almost immediately. Nerion takes out the wheel of the sunken ship and asks the ghost pirates if they have any information. They respond that there was something too fast to be seen taking out fish from the schools in the south field. At one point they had sent a scout to investigate the cliffs but he heard a voice warning him off and continued no further. The group defers to Rayven, who chooses the cliffs to the east hoping to find a flying creature.

The cliffs are scaled without much trouble and look mostly barren until the group comes upon a hole surrounded by beautifully colored coral. The party ascends the steeply sloped hole. Rayven and Sinsear notice that the walls appear to have been rubbed smooth and on further investigation find some dark purple scales. Rayven identifies them as the scales of a
Shadow Drake. Rayven is visibly excited.

As the group approaches the cavern, a voice warns that if they have come for his treasures they had best leave the way they came or be destroyed. Shadow responds with an offer to trade to which the drake responds with interest. Ike steps forth to begin presenting the magic items that the group could offer but Nerion really wants to be a salesman so Ike hands off the loot. Nerion is the first to ask the Drake his name to which he replies “Duvanatrix.” Nerion proceeds to make small talk before showcasing the wares. He presents 5 magic items and the Drake offers 1000 platinum. Nerion tries not to scoff at the offer and asks if he would consider coming along with the group to conquer realms and grow his horde. Despite Nerion’s expert sales pitch, Drake is not interested. Rayven grows impatient and steps forward, berating the Drake for not jumping at the opportunity to come adventuring, murdering, and pillaging. The drake seems more interested in Rayven’s Pitch than Nerion’s and calls the rest of the group before him. He offers a challenge: if we can best him in combat he will send his child to assist on Rayven’s journey. If we fail he will take the items we presented.

Rayven begins with an attempted cheap shot of an umbrella bolt. The bolt lands with more effect than Duvanatrix was expecting but reveals his immunity to normal necrotic damage. Sinsear follows up with a gravitational collapse which he ignores entirely. A necrotic storm then whirls to life within the chamber, peppering the area with necrotic energy. Shadow summons a crown of stars and burns the drake with one of them. Ike prepares to engage by drinking a potion and doubling in size then poisons his staff and sets himself. Nerion then wades in, slashing 3 times with his blade. The drake positions himself to bathe the party in fire and proclaims “witness the power of a Drake, fully grown” before unleashing his necrotic breath on the group. Though Ike, Rayven, and Nerion have some resistance to the necrotic blast, and Shadow manages to absorb some of the energy, the attack drops Sinsear unconscious and leaves Rayven’s pet turtle on its last legs. Duvanatrix then attempts to grapple Rayven with strands of necrotic energy, but Rayven shields himself and the attack washes over him. Rayven lands a swing on the drake and then tells Gamera to run for his life. the turtle obliges and tucks into his shell while sliding back down the tunnel.

Shadow then targets a blast of radiant gravity at Duvanatrix, bypassing his shadowy resistances. Ike strolls up to the drake and offers the challenge “lets go big guy” before knocking him prone with a critical blow, augmented by Sinsear’s lingering power. He then pins him down, to much objection from Duva. Nerion follows up with a weakening hit before retreating to give a potion to Sinsear. The drake struggles mightily and flaps his wings, pushing everyone but Ike away in a gust of wind. He again targets Rayven with strands of necrotic energy, this time successfully binding him. Turning toward Ike who is pinning him down, he lands a bite and tries to slash at him but his claws are deflected by Ike’s soul shield.

Rayven then misses a shot from his restrained position but Sinsear lands a mental dagger, infusing it with overwhelming power and shredding Duva’s resistances. The drake then summons up spectral dragons to strike at each party member. One lands a strike on Shadow but he shouts “Not today bitch!” and slides away. Shadow responds by repeating his inexplicably bright gravitational spell and following it up with another star. As Ike prepares to unleash the power of the pumpkin upon him, Duvanatrix bows his head and yields to the group acknowledging their strength.

He calls to a young drake who climbs out of the pile of treasure and sends him to bond with Rayven and go forth and commit violence on the world above. Rayven Bonds with the young shadow drake and promises to make him fat and rich. Duvanatrix bids the group be on their way and they make their way back to the rift. The party rides Gamera out of the whirlpool and returns to the Weed Killer. They replace the ship’s wheel with the haunted one and continue on their journey to the Scharde Isles.

Now on the Weedkiller, we figure that we can place the new “classic” of a steering wheel we procured. The living crew is surprised but the entertainment is ours as twenty spirit crew materialize as some form of spectres. The living crew does not run in fear but is concerned.

We explain they are with us and then learn a bit more about the new additions. Their captain’s name is Jonny Blaze and they are a part of the Sea Strollers. We learn that we are going to be progressing to the Dying Strands and that we have a choice of directions to take to our destination. A safe/slower way or quicker with more violence. We chose violence.

To the crew we negotiate a 15% cut of the loot for them for their continued support. We then divvy some loot. Also discuss visiting Garlghast while going north for supplies and such.

We leave the dissipating whirlpool and then travel north, beginning our journey through the Scharde islands. 4days we journey…

We spot an island named Hades Haven that has smoke in the center. It is about 100 square miles and one of the largest we can visit. We approach the shore and notice a coral reef surrounding the island that forces our ship to anchor further off.

As we approach the shore with the dragon turtle and the crocodile, we spot a Trollkin who immediately makes for his small boat. We catch up to him and make introductions, he is hesitant but after a special painful handshake and an agreement not to eat them… he decides to bring us to his village. His name is Tobin?

These trollkin have been on the island and are a close close close family. They are blight touched and have darker skin and a strange stare that seems to look at and beside you, simultaneously.

The chieftain approaches us outside the village and has a warrior with him that carries crude adamantite armor. We inquire about the armor and he shares it came from the fire elements near the center of the island. He also tells us about the blighted T-Rexs they fought that after eating gave them their darker complexion.

We travel to the center of the island then dig down into the dead T-Rex den. In it is a collection of bones. We are now at the edge of the volcano which is very hot.

Session 85, 20th of Rowan

In the Bag: 30,182GP (I subtracted 1K for the feast) + 8200 Bank Note + 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

While in the mountain we spot fire creatures way down on the floor. We need to make fire protection potions and decide to take a rest while we do it. Whosdad casts Mordenkainen’s mansion, where he and Ike slave away making the potions while the rest of us relax. After they’re done WD cast heroes feast (1K gold) and we buff ourselves up with the fine food and drink.

Upon entering the mountain, we encountered 3 fire elementals. Nerion tries to convince them to come to some sort of agreement for us to trade for or be allowed to mine adamantine. Nothing works, they start to get enraged so Rayven fires a shot at the one he can see, which confuses it and causes it to attack its buddy. The fights on! Wd casts a spell creating frost motes of death, to fire types anyway. Sinsear hits them with psychic damage. Ike hits them in the face nonstop. Nerion looks green? We beat them down solidly. Rayven sucks up the essence of one of them into his ring. Ike tries to convince the 2nd one to serve us, but it chooses death. Rayven tried the same on the 3rd after using the ring with the essence of a dead elemental giving him immunity to fire. It also chooses death. As it dies it screams that the entrance has been breached. WD is down to 5 motes. Rayven spots another fire elemental coming down a path towards the north, he takes a shot and crits it. To be continued…

Session 86, 20th of Rowan, Sunday, 6:38pm, in the rain, uphill, both ways

In the Bag: 30,182GP (I subtracted 1K for the feast) + 8200 Bank Note + 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

Thanks to Rayvan, we now faced the entire force of fire elementals, lead by a pair of lava giants. No one complained… much.
We took a moment to prepare ourselves, casting spells and finding places to hide. Nerion claimed it was for sneak attacks. We want to believe him.
The battle began. Everyone was on top of their game.
Rayvan used his Dark Templar abilities to hinder and severely damage many of his foes.
Ike did what Ike does; fists of fury rained down on the elementals.
Nerion was good to his word and was a ferocious beast as he darted between enemies.
Shadow cast mighty spells of cold that the elementals could not withstand.
Sinsear mostly held back on offense and helped the party become nigh unkillable with his mental abilities.
Most of the fight was spent laughing at the frustrated elementals. They had no real way of injuring the party. A few bits of damage were all they could muster. The final elemental decided on discretion and jumped into a pit of lava.
Once the elementals had all been vanquished, it was time to find their leaders, the lava giants.

Nerion, rushed ahead as he usually does, followed by Ike, Sinsear, Shadow, then Rayven. At the end of the passage was a fairly large room with 2 lava giants. As the party approached, they prepared by casting some spells we didn’t recognize.
Nerion lead with a Blood spell that caused significant damage to the 1st lava giant.
Rayven followed up with a blast from his shotgun.
The angry giant hurled a stalagmite(tite) at Nerion but it bounced off a quickly cast shield spell.
Sinsear used his Mind Dagger talent to partially disable the 2nd lava giant, halting it from attacking.
Nerion apparently got something in his eye and completely whiffed his next attacks.
Shadow commanded one of his remaining motes to strike the injured giant, but it missed.
Ike drank some potions, then boldly approached the 1st giant and gave it a resounding belly slap. The party pondered this strange action.
A moment later, the giant grabbed his belly, rolled it’s eyes, and collapsed. Dead as Dickens. Don’t mess with the master of Tae Kwon Leap.
Rayven is inspired by this and pummeled the remaining giant with his hammer.
The giant, not being very happy with the sudden turn of events, grabbed Rayven. He threw him over his shoulder and proceeded to jump into the lava pool. Rayven, being immune to fire from the power of his ring, decided this wasn’t really a bad thing… yet.
The rest of the party are left wondering if they should go in after Rayven since most are immune to fire for the time being.
We shall see…

Session 87, 20th of Rowan, Sunday, 6:39pm, in the rain, uphill, both ways

In the Bag: 30,182GP (I subtracted 1K for the feast) + 8200 Bank Note + 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

We begin the session with the giant having grabbed Ray and cowabungaing him into the lava. The group quickly thinks of a way to get him out. Nerion jumped down and casted Bestow Curse, before getting out. Ike jumps down and with his… “water walking” goes in for the grapple, taking a large amount of fire damage in the process. Ike successfully grapples him and drags him back out of the lava. Shadow then smites him with a Frost Mote and a Ray of Frost, bringing the giant down to critical status. A few more mishaps happen and after a frustratingly long amount of time, Ray is able to knock our giant friend unconscious. Afterwards, Ray begins acting like a diver into the lava to retrieve his magical things. After a few dives, he gets his armor back, albeit needing some mending from Shadow, and the rarest of our healing potions, the rest lost to the lava.

After that is done, we begin searching for loot. After some searching, a chest is found by Sinsear. Using our carnival claw game skills, we extract the adamantine chest. After much debate, we drag the giant outside. It’s still pretty early out and we decide to open the chest. Inside we find a crown, made of… fire? in the shape of a crown… We also see a wand, with what looks like a heated rock as a handle, and it almost seems like lava is about seep from it, but in a sense of “Bloom” from the wand. Stats in the group chat.

We decide to throw the Giant into a Magnificent Mansion, with the caveat that my spectral ghosts will indoctrinate him. We have decided to use 5x10 pieces of cloth as the portal openings. Keeping him in the mansion for a week will give me access to a new 8th-level spell, Magnificent Prison, which would not need to be recast.

We head to the ship, but Ray and Nerion decide to visit the village in an attempt to gain a new follower of Myrkul, the chiefs son Robin. The chief makes Nerion agree to try and bring his son back to him, within a year, but was unable to cast a binding spell on Nerion. Robin requests one night to spend with his family, and will meet us on the ship in the morning.

Ray grabs Nerion and heads back to the ship on his drake. We end this session with a logistical nightmare of dealing with a fire giant and a short-bus blighted trollkin.

Gannon was cryptic and asked me to roll a D4 to decide what to do next session, and a 2 was rolled.

Session 88, 21st of Rowan, On the Weedkiller, Penitentiary under construction.

In the Bag: 30,182GP + 8200 Bank Note + 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

The party waits another night to allow Nerion’s Trollkin recruit, Robin, to spend a night with his family. Nerion enters the mansion and gives an indoctrination seminar to the ghastly staff. Ike Gathers some herbs, Shadow crafts some potions, and Sinsear impales some spikes into his face (attunes to the Crown of Destruction). The next morning the sails are hoisted and the party departs with a pretty good idea where they are heading. The second day is rough but with the help of Blaze’s crew, the ship remains on course. While traveling, Nerion tries to break the fire giant by forcing him to sing Myrkul’s praises in order to be fed. This brings only limited success.

On the fourth day, we come across a partially sunken ship. Ike immediately starts running toward the ship over the water, then Abundant Steps the rest of the way. The sails are torn and scorched, the wood is crumbling or almost melting. The strange melting wood seems to continue throughout the interior of the partially flooded ship. Ike finds the hold empty save for some scraps. He continues on to the Captain’s cabin and manages to force open the door. He gathers up some scattered paper and a chest floating in the partially flooded room, then recovers a log book, journal, pistol, and some fine rum from the desk after picking the lock.

Meanwhile, Rayven summons his pet drake and flies Shadow toward the sinking ship. When in range, Shadow coasts Reverse Gravity to raise the ship and keep it afloat for a few extra minutes. The rest of the group arrives at the ship and continues to search it. Rayven uncovers a hidden compartment in the hold but finds nothing of use. Nerion and Longfellow find two cannons that are in good condition and reclaim them as backups for the weedkiller.

After returning to the ship, Nerion gets the captains’ opinion on the strange damage to the ship. Their best guess is an acid type squid of some kind. Rayven picks the lock on the chest and finds 137 platinum and a wealth of healing potions (3 supreme, 6 superior, 7 greater). Ray seems anxious about holding them after the last mishap and tells Ike to keep them in the Bag. The group then turns to the journal and log entries that Ike recovered. The entries seem to be from about a month ago at the most recent and describe the doings of one Captain Eugine Dark Mustache. They name Gravitas port on a nearby island and indicate that he was on his way to unload some goods. He describes something strange in the air seeming to be warding him away and causing the crew to get restless as well as much debris in the water when approaching the port. However he arrived at the port and unloaded his goods. There seems to be no record of them departing.

The party spots the island in the distance and decides to investigate. On the way to the island, they pass the debris fields referenced in the logs. The small island does have a dock pointed in our direction. Most of the Island is visible due to the almost complete lack of foliage on the trees. The ruins of a city can be seen in the distance with a stone temple in the center still standing. The dock is in serviceable condition and the party disembarks in the late afternoon. After walking about a mile to the ruined town, it starts to rain acid. They decide they can take it and run through the rain to the temple, taking moderate damage in the process. Inside the temple is a central pedestal with a sword sticking out of it. The back of the temple is a stained-glass mural.

The sword is being grasped by a corpse wearing green who apparently died when trying to pull it free. Sinsear tries to yoink it free with his mind but fails. Hovering above it he sees an inscription that says “The Hero of Time may wield this blade.” and also something about pure of heart and strong of constitution. Nerion walks up and detaches the corpse from the sword and lays it down. Ike checks the pockets for spare change and finds a platinum Rupee, a boomerang, and a journal. The journal talks about how Gravitas was a nice island until archaeologists dug up something, then acid rain began to fall. He sent every ship away to keep whatever was unearthed from escaping the island. After failing to find any other solution, he donned the colors of the Hero of Legend and would attempt to claim the sword to slay the evil that was unearthed. Nerion prays to Myrkul for strength and tries to pick up the sword but is immediately blasted by radiant light. The group debates trying to bring Robin over to try as he cant have enough going on in his head to not be pure of heart. They then decide since the sword is obviously a weapon of good we should try to destroy it. Nerion stops to ask Myrkul but he says that he doesn’t need it destroyed. Running out of ideas, Rayven tries to cast Darkness on the pedestal as Nerion tries to pull it out again. He is able to pull it out without harm, but the sword loses its magic in the process. He returns the sword and it retains its glow. The party decides to leave it for now and investigate the rest of the island for more clues.

Session 89, 21st of Rowan, In the abandoned temple

The party is enclosed in the temple with acid rain waiting for them outside. This rain must be beat! The group creates multiple ways that would have worked in real life. Yet, in a world with magic and endless possibilities… it appears the only unbeatable is… acid rain.

Cover, boots, suits, and magic are no match for acid rain. We had a super good idea to bring back for questioning the dead guy. He told us he wanted to save the island and thought this weapon would do it.

Eventually the group decides to send out Ike with super psychic acid immunity. He identifies to us a quicker path to the work site. We then realize we can just change the weather.

Upon entering the worksite, we find an entrance. Inside it looks like a dungeon with blood creatures!!! OMG says the Blood Mage!!! The creatures are surprised and begin their attack…

In the heart of the island, where ancient temples loomed amidst the dense foliage, a party of adventurers found themselves ensnared by the wrath of nature. Enclosed within the sacred walls of a temple, they were besieged by acid rain, a phenomenon that seemed insurmountable despite their varied skills and abilities.

As the acidic downpour hissed against the temple’s stone exterior, the group huddled together, brainstorming strategies to combat the relentless assault. They donned protective coverings, enchanted their gear, and even attempted to manipulate the weather with spells and incantations. Yet, each effort was met with failure as the corrosive rain persisted, defying their every attempt to repel it.

Their frustration mounted as they recalled the words of the deceased, a man they had hoped to interrogate for answers. He had spoken of a weapon meant to save the island, but instead, it seemed to have unleashed this cataclysmic rain upon them.

Amidst their despair, a glimmer of hope emerged as Ike, a member of their party with a rare immunity to acid, volunteered to brave the storm and scout for an alternative route. With his guidance, they discovered a hidden entrance leading to the source of the rain.

Descending into the depths of the temple, they found themselves confronted not only by the acidic onslaught of nature but also by bloodthirsty creatures lurking within the darkness. The Blood Mage among them gasped in horror as the creatures lunged forth, their forms twisted and monstrous.

With weapons drawn and spells at the ready, the adventurers engaged in a fierce battle against the denizens of the temple. Each strike and incantation echoed within the chamber as they fought for survival amidst the chaos.

Despite the odds stacked against them, the group fought with unwavering determination, drawing upon their strengths and camaraderie to overcome the relentless onslaught. With each creature vanquished, they pressed onward, driven by the need to uncover the truth behind the rain and put an end to its devastation.

As they delved deeper into the temple’s labyrinthine corridors, they discovered ancient artifacts and hidden chambers, each offering clues to the enigma surrounding the island’s plight. With each revelation, they edged closer to uncovering the true purpose of the weapon and the identity of those responsible for its creation.

And so, amidst the tempest of acid rain and the fury of bloodthirsty foes, the adventurers forged ahead, their resolve unyielding as they embarked on a quest to save not only themselves but the very land they called home.

In the Bag: 30,182GP + 8200 Bank Note + 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

The fight resumed with Nerion trying to stab a Blood Beastie in the face a few times. He finally connected and… wait for it, made it bleed.
Shadow cast a radiant bolt on the same one, singing it a bit.
The closest Malnourished victim whiffs his attacks on Rayven.
The Wobblyass took a few shots at Ike and whiffed.
Rayven used his black caress and did a substantial backstab on the Blood Beastie.
Ike smacked the bloody thing to death.
Sinsear did his mind dagger trick on the Wobbly, causing some mental trauma and making it lose it’s attacks.
Nerion does a Bleed spell on the Blood Beastie, doing bloody good damage. He used part of the healing from the spell on himself and Shadow.
Shadow, feeling giddy from the beating and then the healing, missed with his radiant bolt.
The Malnourished Victim ran up and tried to strike Sinsear. Sinsear popped his uber mental shield of “that was a mistake”. The MalVic was killed by the retributive damage from the shield.
Ike strode over to the Wobbly and proceeded to beat it like it owed him money.
Ray tiptoed over and finished it off.
Hooray! Victory!
We found 3 longbows that were somehow firing psychic arrows. We wondered if Sinsear could utilize them the same way?
We procured a bunch of Force of Blood construct parts.
Behind some fetid stones… There was a bundle of 3 radiant arrowheads that say they will bring an end to the darkness 1d6+5 pierce 4d6 radiant, nullifies Demon Baby G’s protection temporarily, and provides advantage vs G as well. Evil people shooting takes 4d6 radiant damage.

As we opened the door to our well deserved treasure, we are surprised to find…
The Mysterious crap, I mean wonderful, Item Merchant!

We declined to purchase anything from him at this time.
Sinsear is irked that Mike has taken the liberty of absconding with some of OUR treasure. The others restrain him from making Mike’s head explode.
We are still able to come away with a decent haul.
12372gp and gems worth 4200gp

Next, Nerion was tasked with going to the boat and bringing back Robyn aka Shortbus, the trollkin. At the same time, the party did the stupid thing and tried to rest. Of course we got interrupted by more Wobblys.
This time, the party, having been through enough already, went completely gonzo on the enemy and unleashed a plethora of destruction. The fight was brutal and short.

Nerion took Shortbus to do some shortbus things, then rejoined the part as we prepared to face the master of menace.
We are fully rested and ready to go!
(We got some buff too).

As we enter the “arena” we are joined by the world’s most renowned twink, Lin… Robin!! We give him a bow and the gucci radiant arrows

We enter fully refreshed. As we open the door, a blue spirit rises from the grind, peering at us. it then walks through some of us and then INTO Robin, who then seizes, changing shape and appearance slightly. He is now imbued with the memories of some ancient person.

We charge into the room and are greeted by Wobalas and Forces of Blood, a melee ensues and we clear the adds. We lightly inspect the room as Shadow taps the last little well, sacrificing a hit die, to keep him in place just a little longer. We attempt to hold him in place as long as possible to give us time to heal and position.

As we end the session, Gannon is pacing around his throne with malice in his eyes, waiting for the chance to strike as we prepare ourselves.

Session 92, 21st of Rowan, Demon King’s Throne Room

In the Bag: 42,554GP, 8200 Bank Note, 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, Gems worth 4200 gp, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

As Shadow’s essence is slowly drained to keep the Demon King restrained for a few more moments, Ike poisons his weapons and positions himself to attack. Rayven repositions and prepares a strike. Nerion phases back into reality and holds his hiding spot. Gannon laughs at the delay and summons a spectral trident, itching to be released. Robin takes a position to shoot. Ike moves closer, drawing Gannon’s attention, and pulls a dart from his belt. Shadow releases the glowing mechanism and joins Nerion in his hiding spot as the glow on the platform begins to fade. Sinsear buffs Ike while keeping his distance and Nerion shoves Shadow into a more secure position.

The glow expires and Gannon’s shield drops. Ike throws the poisoned dart which hits but doesn’t seem to have the expected effect. Gannon flies across the platform at Nerion who fails to dodge the incoming kick. Rayven tries to land an umbra bolt but misses. Gannon then swings at Shadow who deflects the blow with his robe but still loses his concentration on Nerion’s haste. Sinsear attempts to stab at Gannon’s mind but only succeeds in doing light damage. Gannon then repeats his flying kick which Ike dodges but Shadow does not, he follows up with a heavy swing on Shadow which knocks him to the ground. He is only saved from unconsciousness by the death ward that Robin’s Spirit had bestowed. Robin then draws his new bow with one of the arrows of light and makes an impossibly accurate shot. The Arrow burns Gannon’s flesh and elicits a scream of pain. His otherworldly defenses seem to fade for the moment. Ike rushes in, knocks him to the ground, and impales him with his staff. He tries to grapple him, but his magic seems to make him impossible to grab so he instead unloads with a flurry of blows, taking out all of Gannon’s Mirror images. Shadow palms his deck of cards and flips out a heal spell before misty stepping away.

Sinsear yeets Rayven at the downed Gannon and he attempts a backstab but Gannon’s blood moon aura deflects it. Sinsear follows up with another mental dagger which Gannon strains to resist. Gannon slips into a portal and reappears across the room. Nerion reaches out with his blood magic and attempts to stun him, once more Gannon strains but resists the spell. Gannon steps up to Robin and slashes him with his blade. He then summons a dark spectral armor and appears to be gathering his power. Robin retaliates with the glowing sword, which appears to penetrate his defenses but not dispel them as the Arrow did. Robin’s second strike does the same but Gannon appears to strain further to maintain his defense. Ike, sensing an impending strike, grabs Robin and pulls him out of the way, then tries to stun Gannon. He resists it, straining once more, but something seems to snap within him as he does. Ike follows up with a Boot to the Head, taking chunks out of the spectral armor. Rayven launches another umbra bolt, continuing to chip away at the armor. Shadow attempts a mental prison but only succeeds in doing some psychic damage. Sensing another psychic strike, Gannon tries to stagger Sincere but fails. Sinsear responds by Fracturing him, seriously impeding his mind.

Nerion buffs himself up and approaches the glowing Demon King, then poofs out of existence. Gannon then teleports to Sinsear and unleashes the attack he was charging, but Sinsear’s flawless mental shields redirects the force back at him. He then attempts to grab Sincere but his fractured mind makes him too slow. Robin looses another arrow of light but misses, the Arrow clattering against the opposite wall. Ike walks up the pillar that Gannon had perched atop and attempts to shove him off. After being unable to move his bulk, he unleashes a stunning strike which leaves Gannon in a stupor. Rayven takes advantage and slams a critical backstab into him. This triggers an explosion which pushes everyone away from him.

Gannon stands, apparently no longer afflicted or impaired. Shadow again tries to imprison his mind but his ability to enhance his resistances seems to have returned. Sinsear follows up with another psychic dagger which Gannon strains to resist. Gannon tries to retaliate with a lightning strike but Sinsere effortlessly slaps it aside. Nerion hits him with a weakening strike, but with Sinsear still in his sights, he slams him to the ground, triggering his death ward. He then performs his flying kick in an attempt to finish off Sinsear but he deflects it with his shield, barely maintaining consciousness. He carries the kick through to Rayven to try to knock him down as well but Rayven stands his ground. The party is battered, but so is Gannon. They prepare their remaining strength, and soon the Demon King shall fall.

After conquering Ganon, the party levels from 15 to 17.

Session 94, 24st of Rowan (Nerion still needs to write up session 93.) On our ship, traveling the seas.

In the Bag: 42,554GP, 8200 Bank Note, 10 Gold Bars 500 gp each, Gems worth 4200 gp, 5 Concordance (15,926G in Ike’s Monastery, 810gp in Rayven’s pocket).

The Battle of the Cryxian Ship

The clash began with a thunderous impact as the Cryxian ship smashed into our vessel, splintering wood and sending shockwaves through the deck. In the chaos, George, Rayven’s wyvern void terror, soared above the fray, his eyes blazing with fury. With a deep, resonant roar, he unleashed a torrent of fire onto the enemy deck. Flames roared and crackled, consuming a handful of unfortunate crew members and scorching a Cryxian mage who screamed in agony as the inferno enveloped him.

Ike, our nimble monk, sprang into action. With a swift motion, he hoisted Rayven, our fierce Dark Templar, onto his back and dashed to the top of the ship. Rayven, grinning with fierce anticipation, inhaled deeply and then exhaled a wave of necrotic fire. The black flames washed over the enemy, instantly killing three of the Cryxian soldiers. Ike, never one to be idle, followed up with a rapid succession of knife throws, each blade finding its mark and felling two more foes.

Amidst the chaos, Nerion, our enigmatic hero, materialized on the deck with a flash of arcane energy. He immediately targeted the non-injured mage, casting a powerful spell that left the enemy reeling before Nerion disappeared into another plane, avoiding the melee altogether.

High above, Whosdad teleported to the top mast of our ship. He glanced down, taking in the battlefield with keen eyes. Sinsear, also ascended, his presence glowing with righteous fury. With a powerful incantation, Sinsear cast a Thunderwave that rippled through the enemy ranks, clearing a large portion of the deck. Bodies flew, and a mage was violently slammed against the railings, incapacitated.

Despite their numbers, the Cryxian crew’s counterattack was weak and ineffective, barely scratching our defenses.

George, seizing the opportunity, unleashed another devastating breath of fire, turning more of the deck into a blazing inferno and further thinning the enemy ranks. Rayven, ever relentless, expelled another blast of his necrotic flame, his laughter echoing over the screams of the dying.

Nerion, though his actions went unnoticed by most, continued to weave his spells from the safety of his extra-planar hideaway, subtly tilting the battle in our favor. Whosdad, with a flourish, conjured a massive fireball and hurled it into the enemy ranks, incinerating another half-dozen foes in an instant.

Sinsear’s dark power surged once more as he unleashed a concussive blast that cleared another large swath of the deck, sending a hulking Warjack plummeting into the churning sea below. Ike, with deadly precision, engaged another Warjack, his strikes leaving deep gouges in the construct’s metal armor.

The Cryxian crew tried to retaliate again, but their efforts were in vain. Our defenses held strong, and their attacks did little more than chip away at our resolve.

As Rayven prepared to unleash his third devastating attack, the battle seemed to hang in the balance, the tide turning decisively in our favor.

Session 93, 21st of Rowan

We awaken in the temple that we discovered the holy blade within. Instead of an alter, we see a statue commemorating Robin’s victory over GannonDork. Outside of the walls of the temple, we hear the noises of a busy town all around us. We go outside and see the same town but completely different. Something strange has occurred. We ask the locals about what has happened and we discover that a couple hundred years have passed, from their point of view.

We race to check on Gannon. He has characteristics of a quality Myrkulite that could be forged into a benefit for our goals. Something was trying to prevent us from reaching him. A force so close and yet so far seemed to desire us not to take this path. For in front of us… was a giant wall in the pit that we traversed to reach his lair. Well, we don’t give up this easily. So we teleport through. Another locked gate and another easily solved problem.

Finally, the party reaches his lair and in it we find him confined inside of some sort of totally immovable force shield-like gem thingy….

We get the feeling this force is going to prevent us from a meaningful conversation and then leave.

The party worries that perhaps the boat might not be here anymore and race to the shore. It is there and so is Robin. He isn’t dumb anymore because the blackness has been removed from him.

The hero goes and visits his mentoree inside his learning accommodations. The fire giant is now gleefully singing praises to Myrkul and is rewarded with a hearty meal.

22nd of Rowan started and 2 more days pass on the boat

As the group sails forward towards their destination and fate… they spot a boat in the distance. We advance towards it going faster, closer, and closer, faster…

But here I am playing DnD

Here I am with Gannon and gang.

A painful uniting of ships occurs which kills our living captain and his… lover. Combat begins.

The battle continutes!

The crew of the enemy ship, the Feruvian Reaver, scrambled to defend their vessel. Two crewmen fired wildly at Sinsear, but the bullets veered off course, deflected by an invisible force. Rayven, with a grim smile, unleashed his Umbral Flame. Dark fire engulfed two enemy warcasters, leaving charred corpses in its wake.

With a roar, George swooped down, his breath a torrent of searing flame. The warjack melted under the onslaught, two gunmen perished instantly, and a mage barely survived, his robes smoking.

Nerion, eyes glinting with malice, cast a Blood Bolt. The crimson projectile found its mark, felling a Cryxian gunman. Rayven stepped forward, threatening the remaining enemies with a cold glare that made their blood run cold, causing their shots to go wide.

Shadow muttered arcane words and cast St. Elmo’s Lightning Ball of Ouch, sending arcs of electricity through the enemy ranks. The Captain of the Feruvian Reaver attempted to counterattack, but Shadow’s shield spell absorbed the blow.

Ike moved with preternatural speed into a cluster of the enemy crew, channeling the Gifts of the Dragon Father. His strike caused a thunderous explosion, though many crew members escaped thanks to the Captain’s swift actions.

Sinsear unleashed a telekinetic burst, killing another crewman. With a flick of his wrist, he hurled Rayven forward. A gunman fired at Rayven, but the bullet barely grazed him. Another shot at Ike but missed entirely. The Seether warjack attacked Ike, its strikes clumsy and ineffective.

A mage fired a Magic Missile gun at Ike and cast a gravity spell on Shadow, sending the wizard into the sea with a splash. Angrily, Rayven released his Umbral Fog, a noxious cloud that choked the crewmen, and then obliterated the warjack with a Savage Blow.

George descended upon the Captain, but his claws skidded off the man’s armor. Nerion teleported to the Captain’s side, and began cursing his lineage. The Captain staggered, momentarily stunned, while three gunmen opened fire on Nerion, their bullets merely scratching his armor.

The last gunman aimed at Sinsear, who laughed as the bullet bounced harmlessly away. Shadow reappeared, stepping through a dimensional door.

With a shout, the Captain of the Feruvian Reaver launched a devastating attack on George, wounding the dragon critically. Ike turned to a nearby mage, delivering a rapid series of pimp slaps and demanding payment in a mocking tone.

Sinsear’s mind dagger struck another mage, while gunfire erupted around them. George, weakened but determined, swiped at the Captain before retreating to the shadow realm.

Nerion, his vitality draining, attempted another curse. Though he failed, his physical attack stunned the Captain, forcing him into a defensive stance. In a final act of desperation, a gunman fired at Sinsear, who effortlessly deflected the shot. Meanwhile Ike caught another bullet in mid-air, hurling it back to kill its owner.

Shadow stepped forward, his voice echoing with power. “Yield, or face oblivion,” he intoned. When the Captain sneered in response, Shadow uttered a single, terrible word. The Captain’s eyes widened in shock before he crumpled to the deck, lifeless.

The remaining crewmen, seeing their leader fall, dropped their weapons in surrender. Myrkul’s finest had won the day, the battle on the high seas a testament to their formidable power and unbreakable bond.

(Yes, ChatGPT was involved. Blame Rayven)

The remaining topside crew:
O’Shawn the mage
1 other mage, 1 warcaster, 2 gunmen

The big bad ship is a Blackship Frigate previously called The Feruvian Reaver, but has been renamed to The Herbicide

The 30 crew below decks will serve us as long as they get profit and we remain strong enough to command their respect.

The casualties from our original crew will bolster our ghost crew.

We begin repairs to the Weedkiller in order to make sail for a neutral port close by.

Following the battle, we christen our new flagship, The Herbicide. We spend two days at sea repairing the ships, casting Mend while the deckhands handle other necessary fixes.

Our next destination is a craggy island. As we approach, we notice that not all the harbor lights are of fire; some glow with a magical essence. We bring both ships into port, changing our colors to represent Myrkul instead of Cryxian.

Ike, Nerion, Sinsear, and a few crewmen row into the port, passing various establishments: The Blue Peacock, Irong Cafe Tavern, and the Pickaxe & Cucumber Inn.

A burly dwarf greets us at the docks, charging 200 gold for the Weedkiller and 500 gold for the Herbicide. This fee covers docking and repairs while in port. When we ask for recommendations on the best shipwright, the dwarf tells us we must find one ourselves.

Ike uses their ring to signal Whosdad on where to dock, and Whosdad starts to moor the ships. As this happens, we hear a large crowd nearby, seemingly gathered for a wrestling event. The town is characterized by traditional Asian architecture.

Unable to decide on a company to repair our ships, Ray suggests a contest: each company should present a champion to fight until only one remains standing to win our business. We agree and prepare to witness this unique trial.

Gravy Jones, on his last legs and held in the clutches of Fisheyes McGill, turns to Don Quixote and shoves him prone. He then nails him with a headbutt and finishes his combo with the steel chair. Meanwhile, Nancy Boy picks himself up and strolls over to the dazed Big Black Bob, swinging his chair for the knockout. Then, approaching Don, he slaps him into a stunned state before settling into a defensive stance. Fisheyes swings down at Gravy and finally slams him to the ground from which he does not rise. He then climbs back into the ring with Nancy and catches him with a hit through his defenses. Nancy ignores him and swings down from his perch on the stunned Don Quixote for two solid hits with the steel chair. Fisheyes attempts his crashing wave move but whiffs before landing two normal strikes. Following Suit, Don misses his special attack on Nancy before landing two swings with the chair. Nancy takes another strike at Don who retaliates with his own chair. Fishiyes attempts his crashing wave again and this time succeeds, knocking Nancy to the ground and out of the fight. He finishes his combo with two hits on Don Quixote who also falls.

As the judge climbs into the ring to call the fight, both Don and Nancy roll over and regain their feet. They appear to have joined forces to take down the as yet untouched Fisheyes McGill, and the crowd goes wild. The rejuvenated Don lands a Heroes grip on fisheyes and follows up with a front hand and back hand combo with the chair. Nancy steps up, boxing Fisheyes in against the turnbuckle, and lands a series of incensed slaps. Fisheyes reaches out and grabs Nancy Boy by the neck before pulling an 18-inch Chinook Salmon out of his ass and shoving it down Nancy’s throat. Morning his fallen ally, Don slaps fisheyes with the chair then reaches out and caresses him with the Dar Muerte, slowly lowering his unconscious body to the ground.

Don steps to the center of the ring and begins flexing his victory pose. while behind him, Fisheyes blinks his eyes and slowly pulls himself up the ropes. climbing to the top rung and leaping down onto the unsuspecting Don Quixote. With the roar of the crowd giving him a last second warning, Don attempts a counter but still takes the hit, only just managing to keep his feet. Fisheyes follows up with a last desperate blow, but Don comes back with the steel chair and lays him out once and for all.

Shadow feels strangely empowered by the victory of his chosen fighter. Buena Empresa de Construcción Naval gets the repair contract. When a representative comes to start negotiations, Nerion asks him to come by the ship at midnight to discuss the details. Shadow invites Don Quixote to get a drink, he says he would love one but is eager to see the event tonight and offers to get us entry. Intrigued, the group agrees and heads over to the Arena. As they pass through the crowded market a kid tries to pickpocket Shadow and surprisingly skillfully avoids being grabbed for a few seconds. When he eventually is restrained, Ray offers him the chance to follow Myrkul and join the Herbicide as a deckhand. The kid seems convinced and heads toward the ship.

The group arrives at “The Arena”, the Vegas style neon clashing with the traditional Japanese architecture. Don gets the rest of the group in - 25 gold. After finding their seats, Don talks about how the champion, Torak the Savage, is being challenged for his belt by Garik Stonehand. Ike wanders off to find some loud sparkly merch and some fresh seafood. -2 gold. Nerion grabs everyone beers. Most of the matches were very entertaining. In the main event we get a view of the champion’s moves which include: Standard Punches, A Body Slam, Grappling Pin, and Savage Pile Driver finishing move. Also some type of earth-shattering stomp and debilitating Roar that seem to cover the entire ring. At one point, Garik gets thrown out of the ring. Ray Breaks off a chair leg and throws it to him. The ref takes it from him before he can use it though and Torak still finishes him off, reclaiming his belt. Don explains that the champion can be challenged but you have to first win the rookie tournament in a couple days. The group excitedly starts planning for their debut in the ring and their bid for wrestling glory.

After watching the fight, we have a couple hours until our meeting with Pedro, for our bid. The group decides to go get some drinks and along the way we discuss the details of tag team fighting with Don…

No Killing
No Potions
No Breaking The Rules

When you tag in a buddy, you only have time for one turn before you are forced to leave the arena. While in the arena together, you can complete TAG TEAM moves. Some examples were the DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE, POWER BOMBS, and DROP OFF WITH THE TURNBUCKLE…

The hero inquires of the best way for us to prepare for our upcoming events and he advises us to complete a training montage at THE WRIGGLING WORM!!!

On the way back from drinks, Kyle the kid crosses our path and we invite him to come with us to our ship. Pedro arrives and we give up a tour of the almost empty ship. We prepared a special surprise for him… GHOST CREW!!!

It works and he becomes intimidated into giving us a good deal. 1720 gold to fix the larger ship and 1170 for the smaller.

At this point I had to go =(
